Meeting at Leeds Railway Station, we walked along the canal some of us returned back along the river to our starting point and others ventured on along the canal to Kirkstall.
Some of the plants we saw include:
Fool’s Parsley, Skullcap, Michaelmas Daisy, Yellow Water Lily, White Waterlily, Arrowhead, Great Willowherb, Mugwort, Meadow Cranesbill, Prickly Lettuce, Common Toadflax, Bur-reed, Bur-marigold, Gypsywort, Canadian Fleabane, Marsh Woundwort, Sow-thistles, Hawkweeds, Hoary Mustard, Welted Thistle, Creeping Thistle, Lesser Meadow Rue, Hedge Cranesbill, Sneezewort, Greater Burnet Saxifage, Monkey Flower, Water Mint, Pellitory of the Wall,

Butterflies – Painted Lady and Small White
Dragonflies – Southern Hawker, a dead Brown Hawker,
Common Blue & Blue-tailed Damselflies were also seen on the way to Kirkstall
