Apple Day

Apple Day 2026

Come and support a great environmental cause in Bradford.  Apple Day is Sunday 11th October 2026, 12 – 4pm in Bowling Community Orchard, situated in Bowling Park Allotments, Bowling Park Drive, BD4 7ET.    What3Words//wiser.cuts.tight

This annual, family friendly event celebrates all things apple, pear and native fruits as well as encouraging food production, community cohesion, engagement in nature, education and entertainment.

There will be

  • stalls
  • cafe
  • organic chutney, sauce and jam sales
  • home-made cakes and treats – native fruit related
  • art and craft stalls for children
  • seed sales
  • juicing fresh apples with a traditional press
  • music

We always need help both prior to the event to prepare the organic orchard and on the day to

  • help set up before 10am
  • help run a stall or activity – between 10am and 4pm – part day is fine
  • help take down at the end of the day – after 4pm
  • bakers and home chefs to make orchard fruit related cakes, snacks and savoury treats
  • makers of jam, chutney sauce and fruit related goods to sell on our stall

Of course, you and your family and friends can always enjoy the day in our gorgeous orchard as well as volunteering with us.

We could not run this annual event without a team of dedicated volunteers, cake bakers, crafters, chutney makers and partner organisations to make it a great day out for all.

APPLE JUICING AND FRIENDS OF BOWLING COMMUNITY ORCHARD

We are always keen to meet new volunteers to help maintain our wonderful organic orchard.  Tasks vary throughout the year but include weeding, mulching, feeding, watering, coppicing and harvesting the fruit trees.  Help is needed to sustain the biodiversity of this nature habitat and harvest our huge variety of apples.  We usually meet on a Friday or Saturday throughout the year.  Just come and help when you can.

There is much apple harvesting and juice pressing to be done in October and November – help is very welcome.

If you can join us for these upcoming sessions, please call BEES on 07970 621732 to arrange access/times as the allotment gates are locked.
