Bradford Moor Park Pond Regeneration

Bradford Moor Park Pond Regeneration

BEES were pleased to be part of a wonderful collaboration project to regenerate the pond at Bradford Moor Park

We had a really productive day helping to clear the pond in Bradford Moor park of some pretty unsavoury articles that have a profound impact on the health and wildlife of the pond (think used nappies and food waste!).

Amanda and Nina worked alongside City of Nature CIC, Bradford District Parks, Yas and Nasim from the Friends of group, Ned from Business in the Community and John from Outdoor Education.

Four new cages of regenerative plants were placed in the pond, containing;
Yellow Flag Iris
Greater Reedmace
Pendulous Sage,
Goat Willow,
Dogwood,
Bog Bean,
Water Mint,
Water Forget-Me-Not,
Hornwort.
Yellow Fringed Water lily.

Also, a cage of barley straw.

These will help to tackle the issue with algae, improve water quality and increase habitat for wildlife.
