Apple Day 2024 – Sunday 13th October

Apple Day is our most popular community event of the year. It will be held on Sunday 13th October 2024 at Bowling Park Community Orchard within Bowling Park allotments. The event will run from 12-4pm.   We need your help as the council have increased the ground rent significantly and we need to protect the future of the orchard and the biodiversity it creates.

Come along and celebrate all things appley at our annual APPLE DAY event from 12-4pm. Activities include apple juicing using a traditional apple press and games and activities for children.

We will  have a selection of home made cakes, desserts and savouries to buy made using apples from the orchard and will be selling our apples, chutneys and fresh juice.

If you would like to volunteer on the day, any help is much appreciated, including setting up before the event.

We need volunteers to help us set up on Sunday morning from 9.30am. We also need help running the event itself. All of our stalls are manned by lovely volunteers.  Can you help on a stall selling produce?  Can you help run a children’s craft stall?  Can you make baked goods we can sell on the day?  Can you bring us clean, empty jam jars on the day?

We would be grateful for cakes, chutneys, biscuits etc. made from seasonal British produce e.g. apples, pears and plums.  ALL DONATIONS ARE WELCOME.
