Team Manager - Children, Young People and Families Projects (Targeted Early Help)


£24,000 - £26,000 FTE

37.5 hours per week

(May consider 30 hours)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual who is inspired by playing an important role in changing people’s lives and therefore communities. This role involves direct delivery and management of the Y:Zone Programme along with Team Management responsibilities for our Families First projects within our Children, Young People and Families department.


Y:Zone is a project developed by YMCA Bradford and funded through BBC Children in Need to support young people aged 6-13 who are experiencing disadvantage as a result of a family separation.  The project delivers 12 week group work programmes to support children and young people with their thoughts, feelings and behaviours throughout this difficult transition alongside fun positive activities and holiday schemes.

Intensive Youth Support (IYS) Families First)

 The Families First partnership (Barnardo’s/YMCA/J.A.M.E.S/Brathay) commissioned by Bradford Metropolitan District Council, delivers a key worker service for vulnerable families living in Bradford & District that meet the national ‘Troubled Families’ criteria.

Keyworkers use a ‘Think Family Model’ including undertaking Signs of Safety assessments. The post holder will have an understanding of the challenges faced by children, young people and families and be able to provide management support and supervision to keyworkers to enable them to deliver support and interventions.

          Environmental Lead Project Worker


15 hours per week

£20,430 FTE (£10.47 per hour)

Plus additional project delivery hours paid on a sessional basis.

Environmental Lead Project Worker

The post holder will develop and deliver a range of environmental education programmes, with a focus on people and wildlife. The key role will be to continue to develop a successful volunteer conservation group, the postholder will have a sound knowledge of practical habitat management skills and a desire to share this with a wide range of volunteers. The post holder will also facilitate a volunteer led Field Visit programme and work with schools and community groups, with the opportunity to develop new projects through contract opportunities and funding applications.

Job Role:

Responsibility for planning and delivery of Environmental Programmes funded through grants.

Developing partnership work with schools, community groups, businesses and statutory organisations; including developing contracts and tenders.

Planning and delivery of education sessions to schools and community groups

Planning and coordination of environmental and conservation volunteering opportunities

A working week of 15 hours per week including a regular Friday task day, this post may involve occasional afterschool and evening work. Additional hours will be paid on a sessional basis depending on project delivery


                            Maintenance Operative/Caretaker


Maintenance Operative/Caretaker 24-30 hours £18,228 FT

 Caretaker – Casual Bank Staff £8.24 per hour

This post will be based at YMCA Culture Fusion, Bradford’s MyPlace Youth centre, managed by the YMCA working in a respectful and cooperative partnership with various key co-located services, which include NHS Services,  HFT, LEAP and Bradford Youth Service.

Job Purpose(s): 

Maintenance operative: To provide key holding and maintenance duties (preventative and reactive) to ensure the effective, efficient and safe operation and repairs of the YMCA Culture Fusion premises.

Caretaker (Casual Bank Staff) To provide caretaking and general maintenance duties to ensure the effective, efficient and safe operation of the YMCA Culture Fusion premises.  To work alongside the Front of House Team to deliver excellent customer service to tenants and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

To provide a Key Holder service including opening and locking up of the building as necessary ensuring that opening and locking up procedures are followed to maintain site security.

To be an emergency contact for building issues e.g. intruder alarm activations and attending site when necessary.

To plan and carry out reactive and preventative maintenance work, e.g. painting and decorating, replacing lights, taps, washers etc. as required.

To set up rooms for external room hire and provide a high level of customer service to our customers,

                          Keyworker - Families Against Youth Crime - Extended deadline


Job Purpose(s): 

Bradford is one of 21 Local Authority Areas to receive funding through the Troubled Families Programme for tackling youth crime. This fund will bring together VCS keyworkers, police, targeted Early Help, community groups, teachers and other professionals to intervene earlier to help stop young people from becoming drawn into crime, serious violence and entering the youth justice system.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working in a multiagency approach to support a caseload of Children, Young People and Families at risk of or involved in Criminal Activity.
